Arriving at Kairos’s new home: The End of an Epic Journey…and hopefully a prelude to many more to come.

While facing the shortest leg of Kairos’s journey to her new home in Wickford, her crew was able to sleep in a bit later than usual in Montauk Lake.  Joe was the first up…quietly preparing a breakfast feast of bacon steak and hash-browned potatoes.  The rest of the crew awoke to the appetizing aromas and Ray prepared the scrambled eggs.  The sun was shining taking some of the chill out of the air allowing for our first breakfast in the cockpit using the new eucalyptus drop-leaf table and chairs.

We departed out of Montauk Lake with fair winds and calm seas with a direct route to Point Judith leading into Narragansett Bay, enjoying the sights of the port of Montauk.

As captain for Kairos’s first journey with her new name I must say that I could not have picked a better crew.  Every night of the cruise I reflected on what an amazing group of men I had the good fortune to travel with.  Each crew member contributed to providing an amazingly safe and enjoyable voyage from Burr Yacht Sales in Edgewater, MD to Wickford Shipyard, Wickford RI.  There was no task left for the next guy to pick up….everyone just did what was needed at that time.  It would be an honor to travel with each and every one of my crew members for any journey anywhere.  Thank you Jesse, Joe, and Ray for giving your all to this incredible journey.
