Midway in our Cruise: Plenty of Adventures in Maine

After leaving Boston we headed to Ipswich Bay.  Peter did a little trolling…just to enjoy the fine weather.

After a brief stay in Boothbay we headed to Northeast Harbor in Acadia, ME where we stayed four nights.

We were hoping to ride the Carriage trails in Acadia with our new e-bikes but as we started on the trail we encountered this sign.

Not to be too discouraged with the e-bike prohibition we took a nice hike through the park on foot.

A fine reuben at The Colonel’s restaurant….we later discovered that this restaurant is owned by one of Sheryl’s distant relatives.

Waiting for the Island Explorer to head back from Bar Harbor to Northeast Harbor we endured a little rain as the rest of the Northeast had severe storms.

We started out on a long ride around the loop road of Acadia. During the ride we had over 2000 feet of ascent.
