2021-2022 Winter Storage as the Pandemic Continues

Earlier in the 2021 Summer boating season we decided that we would try keeping Kairos in the water for the winter at The Atlantic Yacht Basin in Chesapeake, VA….

….so we set out on an early Friday afternoon in Mid-October to get a head start on our trip south with our first destination being Annapolis for some routine maintenance with Shore Power Solutions.
The forecast for the next day was for strong winds from the south so we chose to cruise in calm seas into the night to Port Jefferson before the winds kicked up. Nice to have FLIR for this leg.
After the next day in Port Washington the winds shifted to easterly and we headed towards NYC
Protected by the city the East River was calm.
The best views of Manhattan can be from the East River….
